Hi @amber coral, I'm currently using stripe subscriptions and it works beautifully 🙂

What I want to do is allow maybe parents or family members to purchase subscriptions for their kids or family members for christmas

Maybe I could do it using coupons 🙂

Coupons in order to apply discount on the subscription, if that's what you need yeah for sure, you can follow this guide:

Ya so have people purchase a special product for example $50 giftcard - have that create a coupon using the stripe api

and then email them that coupon that they can give as a gift?

Sounds feasible enough via the API, maybe some overhead on your part to track coupons/promotion codes against payments

If it works for your business then I don't see why not!
