After some investigation is appears that the request that was blocked occurred while a Customer's card was still inserted into the reader.
The error message we see in our logs (that I think we should send to you) is Cannot start transaction with card inserted from previous transaction, remove card and try again
Unfortunately we don't surface them currently outside our internal logs. I am going to raise this issue and suggest we provide Terminal users with this information.
