Unfortunately people on my team don't know much about Firebase and the extension at the moment. But creating a CheckoutSession should be really quick so the execution time should matter in this case

I suspected createCheckoutSession to be quick also, but with the function running in us-central, usually takes 7-8 seconds

on my local emulator, runs in 1-2 seconds

I'll see if I can track down some resources on firebase stripe extension for payments. Is there a good place for me to share my findings her on Discord that others might find useful?

7 or 8 seconds is ~impossible I would say

add a log before/after that call and you should see that this part is quick
