Hey there
hey bismarck
To clarify, you are looking for the tax rate that will be applied via Stripe Tax?
I think so? We have setup Stripe to be the processing method for our Wix site (processing card payments for our online store)
Their auto tax is ridiculously expensive, so trying to understand a workaround using Stripe
Are you using a Wix plugin?
Or did you write the code here for your Stripe integration yourself?
Using their site and code editing platform on Wix
Okay. What Stripe integration are you using to accept payments?
Currently we setup Stripe to accept card payments (online)
Did you follow a certain guide or set of docs?
Through Wix's Accept Payments page from dashboard
Oh okay that sounds like a Wix plugin then
I see - then yes probably
To calculate tax with Stripe it depends on the certain type of integration that you use.
Accept Payments Through Stripe -> to stripe site, create account, etc etc,
In this case, you'll need to discuss with Wix here as they are controlling your integration
That was the process to setup
Right so yeah that means they have full control of your Stripe integration
So if you want tax assessed then they will have to set that up for you
For the Stripe checkout page (using create session), would that automatically calc tax?
Assuming we setup the Auto Tax function from Stripe Settings -> Tax Settings
If Automatic Tax is enabled for the Checkout Session, then yes.
ok nice
But that is the piece that Wix will be in control of
Well the workaround was to use Wix code editing and present Stripes session checkout completely independent from Wix (then hook back to site once completed)
But we will explore using session checkout once our client sets up their tax settings with Stripe since it should auto calc tax there
Ah okay then yeah that would work
If you are creating the Session yourself
And have auto tax enabled
Then you should be good to go
Happy to help
have a nice holiday
