ApplePay configuration (domain setup + .well-known file) is mandatory only for hosted checkout page (via js) or it has to be completed for any type of payment process?
its not very clear if the "Pay with ApplePay" button will appear on Stripe's checkout page if I do not setup my domain with that .well-known file

If you are using Checkout Session, then no need for domain setup + .well-known file since the Checkout Session page is hosted by Stripe.
