I can't recall off-hand whether we do any checks on valid zip/state combinations. Out of curiosity, have you tried creating a Customer object with an invalid combination to see if an error is returned?

I just tried creating a Customer with an invalid postal code for the provided state, and did not encounter an error. Sorry, but I'm not finding any address validation that we offer on information provided directly on a Customer object.
