Hi 👋 you use Setup Intents when you want to collect details about a payment method, and prepare it for usage for a future payment, without processing a payment for it at that time.
If the provided card requires 3DS authentication to be completed, then the customer will be prompted to complete that authentication as part of the Setup Intent's flow.
It is important to note that this doesn't guarantee a 3DS challenge won't need to be completed during the future payment, but it makes it very unlikely.
