Hello

Hi!

So you can certainly add a Schedule after a Sub starts, but that schedule can't just change the start_date of the Sub as a whole. In this case you would want to create the Sub Schedule with a phase 0 that lasts until 1/1/2023.

#

If you don't want to charge during that time, then you would use a trial as you noted

#

That said, if the only thing you are doing is moving the billing cycle anchor then you don't really need a Sub schedule at all

#

I would just update the Sub directly to use a trial until your desired anchor

it is an annual subscription that I will next charge them on 1/1/2024.

#

This is just how to do a "pay it forward"

So you want to start it today and then charge again 1/1/2024?

Yes

#

I am charging them now for a subscription that starts on 1/1/2023.

#

I want the next invoice to be 1/1/2024.

Got it. Then yes, I'd recommend just updating the Sub to set trial_end to 1/1/2024 after you create it and charge it initially

I had a similar situation and was working with a trial period. And I know how to do it that way. I'm just wondering if it's possible to do that with scheduled subscriptions (migration) as well

I mean yes it is in terms of either using trials or $0 Prices within the phase until you want to charge and then having a phase at that point for the normal Price
