Hi ๐
Not that I'm aware of
We are seeing incidences where our previews and invoices are incorrect (as per our business rules) because updating subscriptions with just "prorate: true" does not seem to be respected so subsequent previews are wrong
Can you explain what you mean here? Preferably with examples of the Subscriptions in question
one customer who called in: https://dashboard.stripe.com/customers/cus_KDicfF7FpxT4AO
Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
the classic example is that the stripe credits unused, and charges for the remainder
so in the case of 1 user at $100 but 50% off we charge the customer 50 dollars
2 days later we remove the discount
then half way through their biling cycle they increase qty to 2
this will cause a credit line of $25 (unused for 1 user at 50%) and then charge the remainder of the cycle at full price for $100, so we charge $75
but the user expects to only be charge $50 dollars (1 user for half a biling cycle at full price)
previously, after the discount change but before the preview, we could update the subscription with just "prorate: true". and the preview would be for the amount we want
but this morning we got a complaint
๐ stepping in as Snufkin had to step away
Catching up
Okay so taking the customer above: cus_KDicfF7FpxT4AO what is unexpected exactly?
sorry, i think we corrected that customer manually. so that is now a bad example ๐ข
Do you have another example?
Happy to look, just really hard to talk about this stuff in the abstract since there are so many variables
sorry, i believe you can drop this request, i think i'm being escalated in different channels
thanks though!
Okay feel free to pop back in here if we can help more!
