Just taking a step back, do you know which account type you plan on using and what kinds of charges you plan on making? https://stripe.com/docs/connect/accounts

I'm using a standard stripe account to collect app subscription payments, then ideally use connect to payout affiliate commissions to users who setup a connect account and bring in referrals.

It' currently all under the same Stripe account.

Got it. I recommend starting here: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/accounts#choosing-approach

Connect could work for your use case but you'll need to decide how you onboard your affiliates. Then, based on this, decide on the kind of charges you'll create: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/charges

For question # 2, it sounds like you'll want to use separate charges and transfers, or destination charges. These charge types will allow you to move funds from the platform to the connected accounts.

I love the Stripe self hosted bank account connection page. It's included in the Stripe hosted Connect account creating page. However, it's a lot more than I need. It wants a picture of the drivers license etc. It makes connecting the bank account for an affiliate more tedious than needed. Do you know if there is a stripe hosted page for collecting a bank account, that dones;t involve all the extra steps?
