Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹
Can you share the request ID where you're setting the anchor?

paper narwhal
#

let me do that now to get a fresh one

#

I do it via the web UI

#

is the event_id enough for you to have a look?

hexed rock
#

sure

#

there you go

#

I see the billing cycle anchor correctly set on the November 1st
And the period start and end timestamps look correct as well

paper narwhal
#

they do, it's just that the invoices generated look like this

hexed rock
#

It might be because of the reported usage ๐Ÿค”

paper narwhal
#

how do you mean?

#

because the usage is set to 0?

hexed rock
#

potentially.. still thinking though as not super sure

paper narwhal
#

let me see if I can make it work with a product that is not usage based

#

that's interesting, using a standard product gives me

#

so none gives me 1 Nov - 30 Nov

hexed rock
#

Yeah I believe that's expected since you anchored the cycle on the first of the month.

paper narwhal
#

right, so that it would seem that the anchor doesn't quite work for usage based pricing?

#

I might make it work using standard pricing if that's the case, just need to know if it is

Could you try advancing the clock only one day and creating a usage report? I wonder if that changes the description there

paper narwhal
#

what do you mean by usage report? (happy to do it, just not sure how)

hexed rock
#

NP! ๐Ÿ™‚ Since your subscription is usage based we expect you to maintain your own system to record how much your customers have used your product and report it to us so that we can bill them accordingly.
https://stripe.com/docs/products-prices/pricing-models#reporting-usage

Since the usage on this subscription is set to 0 at this moment, it might be showing the 31 Oct - 30 Nov cycle. I wonder if you add a new usage report, does it affect the description?

paper narwhal
#

ah, I see, sure, I can add some usage, no problem

paper narwhal
#

doesn't seem to have helped

#

you can see using this test clock clock_1LyzZhDKnBYR0WvpwLaRUosL

hexed rock
#

Ah I see.

I looked but wasn't able to find much on this unfortunately.
I'd recommend writing into our support team so that we can take a deeper look
