Hello! It does seem unlikely the last four would be the same across several different cards for the same customer. Is this all on the same Stripe account?
Yes, on the same Stripe account.
Can you give me the IDs for the cards so I can take a look?
No, but Stripe IDs for things like Payment Methods and Card objects are safe to share. They can only be viewed or accessed by the account they belong to.
Got it!

Looking, hang on...
From what I can tell on my end these are indeed three different card numbers that have the same last four. Is this the only time this has happened, or are you seeing this with other customers as well?
Its the first time I see something like this.
We do sometimes see things like this where fraudulent activity is involved, such as when people generate card numbers. Is this activity associated with any suspicious behavior you can see?
Doesn't look like suspicious behavior, from what I can tell. To give more context: This is a large customer which has several offices, and they are managed on a single account. they pay us a subscription for each office, and usually, they split the payments across several credit cards they have. This issue was actually detected by the customer itself, and they contacted us because they seemed confused about having the same card entered 3 times (we do have a check in place to make sure this doesn't happen but is based on fingerprints).
To clarify, the customer themselves said the same exact same card number was entered three times?
that's the most confusing part because their representative couldn't tell if they actually entered 3 different cards. They were actually asking this question to us 🤷♂️
Ah.
we are still trying to clarify this with the customer, but I wanted to confirm if that was a possibility, from a technical standpoint. Thank you for the help!
It's possible something is wrong on our end (and I'm going to investigate further), but from what I can tell so far these appear to be three different card numbers.
Once I have this information confirmed by them (if they indeed have these 3 different cards) I will give an update. Thanks again! Have a wonderful day 🙂
