Can you share the payment intent ID (pi_xxx) that doesn't show additional payment methods?
Generally, the available payment methods are showed based the country, currency and other parameters
Sure, it is: pi_3LxNczHNEMzbABd51FaFjK2P
On the other hand, I created another test account on Stripe by choosing the operated country as "USA". This time with the currency "USD" I can see various payment methods.
But my client will operate their business from Canada, and they are offering the product price in USD.
Payment methods also depend on the settlement/payout currency. Since this is a Canada account and settles in CAD, alipay, wechat pay and afterpay only support CAD in CA.
So, if we want to accept payment in USD, shall our operated country need to be the USA?
Hi @misty shadow I'm taking over
Thanks @wanton plinth
Can you please give a read to our previous conversations
I'm reading. so basically you want to provide more payment options for USD payments, am I right?
Yes, and our business will operate from Canada
OK. You can refer to this page for the supported currencies of Alipay https://www.stripe.com/docs/payments/alipay#supported-currencies
Since your account is based in CA, the only currency that Alipay can accept is cad
What about the rest of the peyment methods
Such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, After Pay
So similar to Alipay. AfterPay only accept cad in Canada https://stripe.com/docs/payments/afterpay-clearpay#collection-schedule
Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported in Canada. If the following conditions are met
- You need to serve your page via HTTP
- You need to register an Apple Pay domain
- You have an active card in Google Pay account
- You added an active card in Safari browser
Are they support USD from a Canadian account if the above conditions are met?
Yes
It seems that most of the payment methods are not supporting USD from an account that will operate from Canada.
Do you have any suggestion on what will be the most suitable approach for us if we want to support as much as payment methods to our consumers?
You can change the currency to 'CAD' so that you can provide more payment options to the customers.
And if most of you customers are in US, you might want to use Atlas to register a US entity. https://stripe.com/en-gb-sg/atlas so that your customer can enjoy more payment options even in USD.
Thanks, I'll go through the Atlas documentation and discuss it with our management team. I may come back to you again for the help.
Welcome!
