I would still recommend working with the Migrations team. One example of where this can break down, if you use the APIs to create new Payment Methods, you will be required to collect new mandates for the ACH PMs.

ahh. I see. I read something about collecting customers' mandates. I see in the API I can read, but can't write mandates. So that can only be done as part of the migration?

I believe so but I would recommend making the request to get a clear picture of what the Data Migration team can and cannot do for you.
