The due_date seems to match the date at which the failed payment should cancel the subscription (2 weeks after). Just an hypothesis…

Hi 👋 I'm jumping in as my teammate needs to step away soon.

Your account is currently using API version 2013-02-13 as its default API version, and the change to always return null for due_date when using charge_automatically wasn't introduced until version 2019-10-17:

So I believe it is expected that you are not seeing the behavior described for the newer API versions.
