Yes. You's specify off_session for subsequent payments if the user is not on-session to authenticate/initiate the payment

Thanks, just to make sure I'm clear:

For subsequent payments we need setup_future_usage=off_session, off_session=true, and confirm=true.

The naming of the off_session parameter vs the off_session value for setup_future_usage keeps tripping me up. 🙂

Apologies. I meant, you need to set off_session=true for all subsequent payments, but you won't need to use setup_future_usage unless you're setting up off-session payments on a new Payment Method.
