Hi there, can you share with me the ID of request that you made to update the subscription.
Yea sure. Here it is - sub_sched_1LrDEhGNYuWVcnu0yOshisSs
Just letting you know that we are trying to update it using the Dashboard
This is the subscription schedule ID, how did you update the subscription?
Yep. So just to be clear. In our system, we are creating a subscription schedule using the API. And before, we don't set the end_behavior so I can say that it was default to release. And then last Monday, we update our system to set the end_behavior to cancel. That will make the new subscriptions to have a specific end_date and not Forever.
Currently, we want to update the old subscriptions' end_date via the Dashboard. But after hitting save changes, the end_date still shows Forever. Does that make sense?
Can I have the subscription ID?
Ah, OK. the subscription is not yet started because the start date is 11 Nov
I don't see a request that changed the end_behavior
its end_behavior is still release
Yes. I am updating only the end_date
Is there a way to update the end_behavior in Dashboard?
I don't see an option in Dashboard, but you do it via API https://stripe.com/docs/api/subscription_schedules/update?lang=php#update_subscription_schedule-end_behavior
Complete reference documentation for the Stripe API. Includes code snippets and examples for our Python, Java, PHP, Node.js, Go, Ruby, and .NET libraries.
Right. But may I confirm, once the subscription starts, we can update the end_date in Dashboard? And it will not show Forever anymore?
But is there any other way to update schedule subscriptions' end_date from Forever to a specific date?
Still no luck. I updated a schedule subscription start date today and end date to 2 cycles but still showing Forever
Could you give me that Subscription Schedule ID or created request id?
It is now active since I updated the start_date today, would that be fine?
sub_1LrxCwGNYuWVcnu0EfaFciDE
np, looking..
Hmm where do you see Forever?
Btw we recommend using iterations instead of directly setup start_date and end_date for approximately 2 cycles like that
In dashboard
When you go to subscription page
Click update subscription
Just to be clear, we want to update the end_date in Dashboard since our internal staffs, not developers, will be doing that for the old subscriptions we created
Hmm I am looking at it but that's a Subscription Schedule which has been updated multiple times and is hard to track.
Do you want me to give you a new one?
Although all requests are made via Dashboard and I can see you were changing its end_date between Oct 25 and Dec 6 UTC
Did you see Forever in the first place?
Yes. It is Forever that's why I want to update it on a specific cycle. Tried to update it but after saving changes and refreshing the page, still says Forever
Okie let's do a fresh new test and show me the screen when you first create it via Dashboard. I will try to reproduce on my Dashboard too
The thing is our goal is to update the old subscriptions we created before October 10. Those were created via API and we did not set any end_behavior to them. So now, we would like to update their end_date to a specific cycle.
So, can I just give you a schedule subscription Id that was created last Monday?
Here's the subscription ID
sub_sched_1LrB7eGNYuWVcnu0g1p4jksd
Thanks. I have been able to reproduce it. Looking further...
Awesome
