No, there's no way to do that like with express/custom accounts
an alternative is setting up a customer on your platform corresponding to the account holder of the standard account, and collected a saved payment method
then any "fees" to be colelcted are taken as regular payments from a customer, and you map that to a given connected standard account in your system

I see, but the most "ideal" solution would still be to use the application_fee_amount if at the time we initiate a Direct Charge, we're able to calculate how much fee we want to collect, correct?

That would be simpler, yes, and requires no additional payment handling
