Hi, it's true that product can't be deleted once it is used in a transaction. Which issue do you have specifically with archived product? Generally you can treat archived products as disabled/deleted and just don't care about them
it's just very messy looking, admins can get confused
def need ability to delete unused archived products
You can try the filter here in Dashboard
these are products that have not been used in a transaction
the filter is still too messy for us
How so? I believe you select "Available there" then all results displayed will be only available (non-archived) products
Yes, I understand that but very easy to toggle to archives and we just want to be able to delete ones that have not been used in payment.
also unused archives get grouped with used archives that you actually want to save
I see. Do you have example of archived and unused in payment product? I believe its price must be used somewhere
and i should also note that we can't delete pricing table either bc of this
and yes we can only archive the price inside the product, which is also unused
these were created by mistake, never took payment on them or anything
And when you delete the product on Dashboard, what does it show?
this has not been used in a transaction or payment link
nothing in the events or logs, these were created by mistake and quickly archived.
Can you provide the product id?
prod_MO3gtSRQqmhsNP
Okie I see a price inside price_1LfHZaJbCzYVJZkxXaUjGydZ. Have you tried to delete it first?
Yes so the real issue is the Price. I believe it might be used in some Customer Portal or Checkout Session
Do you have any guts feeling where you might have been using it?
very certain we did not use it, and either way no longer need it. has not been used in payment or transaction so no use for it.
prod_MO3t7ddtLisGT5
prod_MO3xr9zdRkooqi
2 others with same issue, cluttering our archives area
looking further 🤔
thank you

The product prod_MO3gtSRQqmhsNP was used in this pricing table
yes they are all used in the pricing table i believe
which cannot be deleted
bc the products that cannot be deleted are in there
pricing table was also never used, mistakenly created
When you created the Pricing table, what does it tell you?
Pricing table has been deactivated because it contains archived products or prices
i am not sure what it said when it was created
Okie, what if you try to delete the Pricing table?
no option to delete
I see...
So I think it's because of the Pricing Table, and because Pricing Table can't be deleted, it makes the Prices and the Products can't be deleted too. I would forward your feedback internally, but at this time all I can offer is to stick with archived status
We def need this resolved
Can you delete this internally?
It is creating lot of issues for us because of confusion
I can't, but Support team might be able to
who can i get in touch with on this
I would recommend reaching to them, just for manually deleting the records
 Have a non-technical question, account issue, or need one-on-one support?
We wish we could help, but this community is focused on developers and technical discussions. Our support team will be able to assist you better than we can: https://support.stripe.com/contact
from here!
Let's be clear that you only want to delete the records. I am afraid they might not be able to, but worth asking
Yes we need these unused pricing tables and products deleted
this is an error on stripe side
i would understand if used in payment or transaction, but that's not the case
and also we do not have option to delete pricing table which is super frustrating
Yes I understand that and have forwarded your feedback internally. Apologize. But it's a separated thing if Support team can delete for you, manually by themselves. I suggest asking but not with high expectation.
this is going to create issues in future
we need this resolved
who on the engineering team would be able to manually delete, not a big ask tbh very easy process going into db and deleting lol
i suggest making a CTA for manual deletion requests with support in the product too
It's not that simple unfortunately. We are engineering team here but that is an operation process
I am trying to point to the right direction. The Support team would be able to handle if it's even possible
it should be fairly straight fwd
support is not able to assist us
should just be able to remove these from db
you have also confirmed our findings to be valid (product not working as intended) so it should get approved if escalated
it's the 3 product codes, and 1 pricing table
No it's more of the Pricing Table. The Product and Price are expected to not be able to delete, because they was used in a Pricing Table. The real issue is Pricing Table is undeletable I believe
i see
if i delete those products in the pricing table would that solve it
just tried nvm, doesnt work
Yes it's like a history record. Same thing happens if you use the Price on a Checkout Session, even if after the Checkout Session is expired
Once it's on any historical record it can't be deleted. Only archived
Yes I understand, I just say it's similar to
not sure why stripe would ship a pricing table feature without it being fully tested
What would be the issue if you view the dashboard page at ? https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/products?active=true
Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
It won't show any archived products at all
it's about having an organized archives area
let's say we change our plans, and archive our active products
those used archived products get mixed in with a mess
we like to keep things tidy
want to visualize our archives when needed without mess, this is such a waste of time tbh but needs to be resolved
pricing tables area also confused our admins who have clicked there and asked what that is etc
im tired of it, want it deleted
Is it Live mode data or Test mode data?
For test mode you have an extreme option to wipe out everything, but I guess it doesn't directly solve your problem
