Hey @valid hornet yes, we help in real time here and there are hundreds of questions a week so we mostly close threads once the issue is resolved or we stop hearing back. What do you need help with?

valid hornet
#

ok, thanks. i'm not exactly sure how to reference the thread that i was communicating in

rugged elk
#

All good, you should be able to just explain your real/new question now

valid hornet
rugged elk

can I ask you to explain your exact question?

valid hornet

i think we have an issue with the way we implemented our subscription workflow and need advice on how to fix it such that failed payments don't allow customers to have more seats than they paid for

rugged elk
#

the PaymentIntent you linked is associated with a failed payment in Checkout and unrelated to any subscription upgrade so I'm not really following what you are asking

valid hornet
#

sorry, i may have linked to the wrong scenario as we had two problematic transactions. it's late where i am and i've had a long day. that particular payment intent was from an "upgrade" from one product to a subscription that failed. i was trying to track down how our system was able to was able to upgrade from one license to another even though the payment failed.

unfortunately the example you gave me is not what you say

#

to help you I need an exact example one

valid hornet
#

is there anyway that we can get a successful callback even if the payment eventually fails?

rugged elk
#

I'm sorry it's the exact same thing

#

you said you have problem with subscription upgrades but you give me PaymentIntent ids for subscription creation that fail

valid hornet
#

yes, i had explained above that i had two different problems that i wanted to work through and i had mixed up the example cause i've just worked a 12+ hour day. i will start up another thread to work through that workflow some other time.

#

the "upgrade" that i am talking about in this case was from one product to a subscription

#

and when the customer was checking out with the subscription where the payment eventually failed, somehow our system received a positive response and we changed their license from one product to the other

rugged elk
#

I don't need you to start a new thread, all I'm asking is the real question.

#

somehow our system received a positive response and we changed their license from one product to the other
what did your system/code do? I need you to explain exactly what part you're confused about

#

because as far as I can tell you created a Checkout Session, and it was not successfully confirmed

#

I'm sorry you've had a long day, I totally understand. I'm just trying to help you though. It might be easier for you to come back to this refreshed tomorrow and provide all of the important information + question in one message

valid hornet
#

yeah, i can do that. i think i will have to look through our webhooks. but we dealt with this customer for several days trying to charge their card successfully. i will start up a thread tomorrow with references to the events.

#

thanks for the help

You likely would be better off just talking to our support team too. This Discord is more for developers asking questions about their code. And this is quite close to account support at this point

ok, i will file a support ticket instead
