Can you simply create a test-mode Customer Portal and view it from there?

Yes, we set this in the customer portal and tested it in our emulator, but one customer in particular said that it is not showing up and we would like to check especially for this case.

Ah, I see. You would need to create a new Billing Portal session through the API and pass in that customer's Customer object ID. This will return an URL you can then visit to see what they see
