I don't know if you can answer this next question or not, but the Stripe Partner test has the testing software:

Calculates a total of all purchases
create a new payment and confirms it
Immediately runs the calculation again

I'm having a problem where Stripe just isn't fast enough to update itself for step 3 so it returns the incorrect amount than what the testing software wants. Is there a faster API to retrieve payments than stripe.charges.list ?

We can't really help you pass that test, the whole point of the test/certification is to make sure you understand this

Stripe seems to indicate that it is the fastest
