Hello ๐
Sofort is a delayed payment method. It can take upto 14 days to receive notification of success or failure. So the charge that is captured can still fail.
https://stripe.com/docs/payments/sofort#:~:text=it typically takes 2 to 14 days to receive notification of success or failure.
Hi Hanzo, thank you for your answer. I see your point but I have trouble understanding the workflow. Is it that stripe actually captured the amount but then the bank refused the payment and therefor we fall in this state charge.failed, capture = true ?
Yes, that's correct.
Okay that is helpful. Thank you

Have a great day
Have a good one!
Just a quick linked question, with captured at true, does it mean the amount actually appeared in our stripe / was available for payout for exemple?
I don't think that would happen. As for a delayed notification payment method, the payment intent will actually stay in processing status. until you receive success or failure result.
So it shouldn't be reflected in the balance available for payout until the PaymentIntent succeeds
Okay that is correct, the payment intent was in processing and then in payment_failed.
Yup
great, thank you so much.
