Still looking in to this, I see the 400s and successful capture that you are talking about but don't have an immediate idea of what is happening here

The request went through to the reader and reader collected payment but keeps responding that it is offline

sounds like your server didn't hear back from the device that it had indeed received the request and therefore you responded to us with a reader error

i think when you receive a payment method from the device you should change the offline status to true

Yeah that sounds plausible, though I am not familiar with how exactly we handle that status here. This looks like a bug/unexpected behavior so I think I will have to file something with the engineering team.
