#rnash - Test Connect

Hi 👋
Are you using the bank accounts we specifically call out for using with Connect?
https://stripe.com/docs/connect/testing#account-numbers
How are you creating the Connect Account?
I turned on Test Mode in my stripe dashboard with the switch
then I navigate to Connect and generated the link to create a Standard Connect account
then I used that link in a different browser window with a different stripe account
Okay so using OAuth. And you are using the routing number 110000000?
yes
And you get this message?
Known test bank accounts cannot be used in live mode.
yes
Okay the problem is you should not be activating an account at all when you are in the testing flow. What you want to do if you wish to test out Connect is, after opening a new tab with the OAuth link, you select the platform account and click the Skip this form button near the top of the window. That will avoid all of this
and then will I be able to use the created test connect account to try out some payments and what not?
There will still be some additional configuration and activation steps required but after that yes
ok thanks
is there a guide for that configuration?
because I'm not seeing a way to move to complete the configuration
Are you opening the OAuth link in a private browsing window? Stripe Dashboard cookies can cause problems when trying to go through the process in the same browser that you are logged into your own Dashboard with.
I get a "Your onboarding process is complete! You can close this window." and then nothing happens
I don't see the account in my list of connected accounts
Have you refreshed that list? It took about 1 minute for me to see the account in my test account
ah
I see it now
it's "Restricted"
with this message:
"The account owner needs to provide more information to Stripe to enable payouts on this account.
INFORMATION NEEDED - DUE NOW
Bank account or debit card
Product description
Business support phone
Business website
Email
Terms of service acceptance"
how do I set those things up?
hmm
maybe I don't need to
looks like payments are enabled
thanks for your help!
I'm happy it worked itself out. Some of those permission checks are queued processes and can take a little while to run
