Hello, that is expected behavior. Stripe accounts can only connect to one platform account, so if the account is already connected to another platform, connecting to a new one will create a new account and that new account will then connect to the second platform

We typically recommend just creating new Standard accounts when someone wants to connect to your platform to have a uniform experience across the board.

You said: Pompey does this mean you do not support Oauth within the Connect onboarding flow? We did this test with an account which wasn't connected to a platform and an account which was connected to the same account of the platform for which we triggered the flow. In all cases it creates new / duplicate account - what is the reason for providing email and password within the flow if it can't use an existing Stripe account? How can we connect existing clients account to our platform without having them to have to go through whole onboarding?

So yeah it depends here. If the account has been created as a standalone account, then you can connect it to your platform using OAuth.

However, if it was created via another platform, then it can't be connected to your account, and a new account will be created

yes say a new client comes from platform 1 to platform 2 but want to use single Stripe account

Yeah not possible really. They just have to create a new Stripe account

They shouldn't have to go through the full onboarding process again

If they enter the same login info then we will use their existing account info to prefill everything

Custom and Express accounts can never be connected to multiple platforms

They are always just associated to the platform that created the account

#

And you can't know if a user's account has already been connected. We don't/can't provide you any information about a user before they are Connected to your platform
