Ah ok. We were actually using Checkout before, but migrated to Payment Element. Is there a timeline for when automatic_tax will be available for PaymentIntents and Payment Element?

And do you have any suggestions for workarounds until it is supported?

we don't have any timeline to share regarding when automatic_tax will be available for PaymentIntents and Payment Elements

when you create an invoice, there would be an underlying PaymentIntent which you can use to collect payment using the Payment Element
