Hi there

#

What type of Connected Accounts?

I'm not sure I'm following... possibly Express but the anonymous account I referenced is when you go through the oauth flow in test mode there is a "Skip this form" option which I believe is called an "anonymous" account.

#

Actually it's probably "Standard". I don't think the Stripe dashboard is limited in any way.

lone fjord
#

Yeah with Standard you don't need to enable the account to test in testmode

Ok I enabled it because I was trying to understand the connection to Affirm. I'm assuming the platform or Connect account would have to provide API keys but I don't see that anywhere in the docs.

Right how does Stripe know the Affirm account? Does the Platform & Connect user not have to sign up with Affirm?

Sorry! missed your follow up here @willow forge

willow forge

You're good. Probably should have tagged you.

Can you clarify what you mean though?

#

Not sure I understand about "know the Affirm account"?

#

In livemode you do enable Affirm

#

But you don't need this in testmode

I guess I just assume that either the platform has to provide API keys to the Affirm account or the Connect user does so Stripe can figure out how to connect with Affirm but nothing I've seen has indicated how Stripe connects to Affirm.

#

I enabled it on a live Connect account and Stripe didn't ask for any identifying information.

Since I'm having such a card time communicating what I'm trying to ask I believe I'm clearly missing something. I'll go back through the docs as something isn't adding up for me. To answer your question (I think) I've enabled Affirm in both the platform account and a live Connect account. But I haven't done anything with the API side as I was just trying to understand how it works.

#

card = hard 😉

shrewd briar
#

Your goal is to test Affirm with a connected account, is that right?

willow forge
#

Yes, but also understand. I assumed either the Platform or the Connect account would need to sign up directly with Affirm. Now I'm starting to suspect that's wrong.

shrewd briar
#

As far as I know that's not required.

#

Let me confirm that though...

willow forge
#

Interesting, I clearly don't understand how this works but I'll play with the API / settings and hopefully that will clear things up.

Yeah, it just needs to be enabled in the Dashboard/via the API.
