The easiest way to handle something like this would be to just create separate Prices for your separate Tiers.

Ok - yea we are creating seperate prices for year, month, bi-annual terms. The downside to this approach is that its much more manual when a user cancels or adds a subscription

but I figured there was probably no way for stripe to manage this for us like they do with the tiered pricing model

Yeah not really another way. The other thing you can do is to just change the quantity via tiers like you mentioned.

But mostly I'd recommend separate Prices. As long as those Prices have the same interval, then upgrading/downgrading should be smooth
