In test mode we largely don't send automatic emails. For some things like invoices we will send the email but only if the email address exactly matches the one that you have on your account
For receipts like that it is always manual, just providing a bit of extra detail about other stuff in test mode.

Great, that makes sense, because it would be extremely 'spamy' to send emails in test mode.
