you should probably stick to just having them create a new Stripe account. If the account is already connected to another platform with controlling access, you wouldn't be able to connect to it. And there's no way to know this upfront.

you can take a look at the steps here ^. The connected account would access the link and login with their existing account and authorize your platform to connect to them.

Once completed by converting the access code at https://connect.stripe.com/oauth/token, would this new stripe_user_id appear in the Stripe Dashboard of the Platform Account and other GET's to /v1/accounts to list all accounts?
