But yes account debits don't work in all countries. You can learn more about this here: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/account-debits

But you could try to increase your application_fee next time you collect payments in order to move money from the connected account to the platform.

how do we do this in case we want to specifically create a new charge to our canadian customers? do we need to set a new platform account?

Cross-border transfers (like an account debit) are only supported in certain locales/areas. In your case, you can only debit EU connected accounts (as an EU platform)

You'd need a CA entity and Stripe account in that case
