What do you mean by "changing subscription"? What part do you want to change?

Essentially I think we will need to cancel the existing subscription and start a new one as our different membership levels are set up a separate products, does that help?

You could do that. But it's much simpler to update the existing subscription. If you want to change the price od the subscription, we have some examples here: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/upgrade-downgrade

yeah, was reading that earlier, but it means I'll need to change our set up so we just have one subscription product with the different levels of membership as different prices, is that what I should be doing? I was worried that by doing this it will be harder to see an overview of which members are on which membership level

That's what we recommend, but you don't have to. You can change the price of a subscription to a completely different price and it should work.

ah I see so I should still be able to do it via the update option but just change the price to the one from the other product, ok, cool, I'll try that, that would be better than me cancelling and starting a new one as I was thinking.. let me try that approach Thanks
