thanks @little falcon , yes exactly ๐
just a follow up question
i want to create a subscription for a user starting from 1Oct2022 to 1Oct2023
but want to send the invoice today so the user can make payment in the coming 30 days
for example:
please see the screenshot below
here it says that the billling cycle with start on 1 oct and that when next invoice will be generated
is it possible to send the user a innvoice today but let billing period start 1st Oc
Don't think that's possible. Invoices are always sent at billing cycle
i think we can send user an invoice and not do this via subscription
that way invoice can be sent to the user for example today
but one thing is, we want to associate a subscription to the user once he pays the invoice
What I can think of is a workaround that you a separated, one-off Invoice now, and then deduct its paid amount onto your first Subscription Invoice
but agree it's not very clean
its an annual subscription
can ou please let me know how i can deduct the amount on the subscription after a user make a payment by the one off invoice?
You can give them some credit note, or create a coupon/discount to apply, or create a negative invoice item...
There are multiple ways
ah got it, so just so i understand the workflow, below are the steps
- send a one off invoice for example today
- once the invoice is paid, create a subscription on the user account with a coupon of 100% one time discount
so user is not charged via subscription
Yes!
in case of a 0 valued invoice, does the user still get a email?
so what i am trying to avoid here is send user a email
as the user has already paid, we don't want to send a invoice notification
Um maybe yes.
I am not entire sure about that. Maybe Support would be able to clarify
Or you can test it yourself, in test mode observe the webhook event invoice.sent, or in Live mode with a real email
๐ I am stepping out for the day. Please ask in the channel if you need further help
