What you're saying should be supported but I don't know if that is a limitation of Express accounts specifically (that they have only one external account), I'm not sure
what did Stripe Support tell you?

Upon checking, it actually depends on where the connected account is located. But just as an example, if the Stripe connect account is located in CA, they can add a Canadian bank account for CAD payments and they can also add a US bank account for USD payments, provided that the bank account is based in the USA or Canada.

so yeah I'm seeing different behavior here in a couple of cases, where I'm not entirely what the expected behavior is. The Express Dashboard isn't our forte here so I had to try out to wrap my head around it.
On my Express CA test account, I can only add one bank account and not another. I had a coworker try and they were able to add one for CAD and one for USD on their test Express account. So I'm not fully sure what the difference is there, I assume there is some possible difference, around some field on the account maybe?
I recommend writing back to Support at https://support.stripe.com/contact and asking them again and having them confirm.
alright, i'll try that. support let me know that only certain territories are able to do this, but canada is one of those (https://stripe.com/docs/payouts#supported-accounts-and-settlement-currencies)

is there any documentation that shows what it should look like when one can add an additional account...?
i can view these accounts because im an admin for the account they're connected to, but can't add an additional bank account so it's hard for me to troubleshoot
the Express Dashboard (aka the url you navigate to from a LoginLink) has a section for "Payout" where it opens a right navigation view, in which you'll see the CAD bank account and (if allowed) a "Add account +" button
