#Adarsh - 50 recurring prices
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hello, at that point you may likely have to calculate the prices yourself and add them as invoice items for the last 30. Trying to think of if there is another good way to do this
So the user will always be signing up for these 50 separate things essentially?
@tidal patrol but in that case, if I calculate the prices at my end and post them as invoice items the customer is not liking the invoice generated
(as they have signed up for something which has tiered pricing and what they see on the invoice is standard pricing with altogether a different quantity)
Yeah we have seperate pricing for around 50 features offered and the customer wants to control each one individually (so they can signup for 50)
Gotcha. I will see if there is a way to expand this limit, otherwise it seems like the invoice experience might have to be compromised in some way because of the current API restrictions
ok, thank you, it will be really helpful if the limit is increased
So it turns out we do have something for this. If you write in to our support team they should be able to enable your account to have more subscription items https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
Though it is worth noting that subscriptions with this many items can often make calls pretty slow. If the user isn't using some of these 50 items, it would likely be best to not include all 50 unless they are actually using all 50
ok, thanks 🙂
@tidal patrol I had chat on the support link you shared, I got the below reply on that:
I am afraid this is a product capability I am afraid. At the moment you can only support 20 subscription items.
can you please help
I will double check but as far as I can tell that is not accurate and we should have something for this.
ok thanks
Yeah as far as I can tell that support agent was wrong there, unfortunately. Can you try talking to them one more time? If the second support agent doesn't know we can try something else but that would be easiest
ok sure, thanks
@tidal patrol this time I got the below reply:
Thanks for waiting. Yes, I have confirmed with them and unfortunately there is no way to increase this limit due to the product capability. You can find more information here: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/multiple-products#restrictions
Consulting my colleagues on this one and will get back to you
ok
Okay so it turns out I can help here. Did you do this over chat support or email support?
If you have an email, I can grab it and make sure your account is enabled here.
If not, you can write send an email to support@stripe.com, mention me and this server, and I can grab it then
Apologies that you got two people that didn't know about this. It can be tough to make sure everyone knows about all of these features
I've turned my DMs on for this server, if you DM me your email address, I can pull up your account and enable this
hey, i didnt get any help yet
Apologies I misunderstood how to find your account here. If you just DM me your email I can take over the support thing and work to enable this for you.
Thanks for the email. Looking you up now
Deleted the message because bots sometimes scrape public servers for emails
ok, np
we are using stripe connect as well
want to confirm two things, once you enable this
1] can we create 50 items in test mode
2] will all the subscriptions for all connect accounts have this flag enabled
I will check in to that as well. Still looking in to this, I see your tickets and am trying to follow up on that
ok cool
Hey @languid maple We won't be able to enable something likethis for a platform sorry
So you will have to work around it for now and deal with the limit of 20 subscription items. I can tell you this is already a high limit and almost no one ever needs more than this and right now it seems like you just worry it might happen
@potent niche I understand stripe doesn't support more than 20 items, you can say it is a limitation from the stripe side.
FYI. It is not my worry, I actually have 50 items to be included in the subscription
I thought you said "someone might one day maybe buy every single item in parallel"
Ultimately, our limit is 20. Yes we do have a special feature for going a bit higher but it only works for one account and so it's not compatible with Connect
can I enable it for one single connected account on my platform, even that will help to an extent
Scenario: I have 50 recurring prices (all with tiered pricing) to be included in a single subscription. I don't want to create and maintain multiple service plans.
It's not something we'd do in that case.
