In short, you can only connect to an existing Standard account if you're an extension, not a read/write platform.
If we have a Custom Connect Platform will it work?
Will what work? Can you provide exact details about what you want to do?
We are a read/write platform. Our platform has workers, clients and us. A worker sends an invoice to a client and we get a processing fee.
My problem is i'm a user as well for our system. I have a company that has been using Stripe for over 10 years. I'm not going to setup another account just to use the app that we developed. I want to login and connect my existing account to our app.
In Freshbooks all I had to do was connect to stripe and everything just worked.
If we move from "Standard" to "Custom" would that fix the problem or does it even matter?
No, Custom accounts won't solve this problem. Custom accounts are separate Stripe accounts without Dashboard access which are created and controlled entirely by the platform.

So there is no way for me to use an existing account? I will have to setup a new account just to use our app. I can login, use the same 2-step, but I have to setup a new company. Is that correct?
