The scenario you described can happen.

We know how long it takes for the payout to reach the destination account

#

But we don't get confirmation it arrives

#

We do get a notice from the bank if the payout fails

#

But they can send that notice after the expected arrival period

#

So you may see both a payout.paid followed by a payout.failed sometime later.

This is rare though

Is there any way to know if it's in an in-between state?

Wouldn't like to tell users that a payout was successful just to then say it failed 😁 (if possible)

I can only assume you guys don't know anything until the banks respond, and that there is no event for that 😓

Yeah there is no way to know. Like I said, this is very rare. Most times the payout.failed would come in before the payout.paid
