Can you share the doc you're looking at?
Are you trying to onboard a new connected account? If so, I don't think that account needs to have a role defined.
Can you clarify?

So you have a Connect Account connecting to your platform via OAuth. What is it you need the user to be able to do?

The user needs to be able to connect with my platform. From my platform, they are initiating the OAuth flow where they can then select an existing Stripe account or create a new account. Their existing Stripe account is not showing in the list of accounts they can connect to.

Is this a different role? I'm sorry this is rather confusing. These roles are about providing access to your own account. The section for Connect roles are permissions related to working with Connect settings on the platform

But what you are describing sounds like the account did not complete OAuth successfully and isn't linked to your platform account

No worries, it is confusing!

I'm looking specifically at this line in the doc that outlines the permissions for each role.

The user is not able to complete the OAuth flow because they are not able to select the account in this step:

No, this user is not a developer on my platform. They are a "customer" of my platform.

They want to use my platform so they need to connect their existing Stripe account to it.

The problem is they are not able to select their account when they are going through the connect onboarding flow.

No, they are not an administrator on the account. They have the "Developer" role for the account.

I don't have the account ID of my customer no. I'm going to have him test connecting when logged in as administrator and see if it resolves it. I will follow back up if it does not resolve it
