The body of this API request is
email: "does not have one"
Right, but there is an email on the customer record.
I have seen problems before where there wasn't an email, but this is the first time the email was on the customer record and it is saying that
They have been struggling with this one since last night. They submitted a trouble ticket earlier today and I have been trying to figure out what might be causing the problem.

Okay but this API request is trying to pass an invalid string value to the email field. What is the request that is actually the problem?

Sorry, went to check the code to see what is happening. We are attempting to pull the customer list by email. Tracing to see where the email is coming from

We request the email address from the core system, then request the customer list. The problem is the api is returning this part of the time:

So, it looks like we have a server issue on our end. one of the servers must be offline.
It didn't happen before when I ran the api, so I thought we were good. But I hit it several times in a row and that is when I finally noticed it.
So I think I know where our problem might be now. Thanks. I am going to talk to our server folks and have them check the server status
