Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

balmy oyster
#

hey there

#

big update for us so trying to confirm all was done correctly. loooooooong day.

#

I am looking over payments to confirm that we are now getting our application fee on these previously grandfathered accounts that had 0% and now should be 1% platform fee.

astral tundra
#

Do you have an example request ID? Where the application fee parameter was passed successfully?

balmy oyster
#

We made the update around 6pm and the payment hit around 6:40pm and no application fee to us. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

#

how about an event:

#

evt_1LV0Z9ARO6wJn972wYPCHxQc

#

That event i think was me running the update around 6pm. Then a payment was charged about an hour later.

astral tundra
#

Well for starters the application fee was adjusted after the invoice was generated

balmy oyster
#

Invoices are generated.....?

#

How far in advance of a subscription hitting?

#

of a payment being charged.

#

So basically when can we confirm that the application fee is set correctly. I am looking for a new payment where we obtain the application fee on a sub I updated.

stiff forge
#

you're typing sooooooo fast

#

we can barely think and respond that you're already 5 more messages deep ๐Ÿ˜…

balmy oyster
#

ok

stiff forge
#

Updating a subscription's application_fee_percent will apply to future invoices generated. It won't apply to already created invoices

balmy oyster
#

right remind me how far in advance of a payment occurring on a subsription that the invoice is generated please.

stiff forge
#

it's not generated in advance

#

So when the new period starts then an invoice is created

balmy oyster
#

what is the best way to check that the application fee is in there correctly.

stiff forge
#

It's there, no need to check mostly

#

the next invoice will have the right application fee

balmy oyster
#

if we look at future invoices, it looked this morning that the invoice application_fee was null since...

#

well, it seems to be null on future invoices.

stiff forge
#

your platform owns that subscription, so future invoices on that Subscription will have an application fee set as expected

balmy oyster
#

ok. koopajah.

stiff forge
#

You can create a subscription in Test mode on that account with your Test key for example to confirm

balmy oyster
#

our attempt was to update all subscriptions. I'm not seeing the event on some. Maybe it just shows too few. But for example.

#

Can you check that sub?

stiff forge
#

like this morning you didn't have any application fee on the invoice we discussed before

#

What do you need me to check?

balmy oyster
#

right

#

one sec

#

"application_fee_percent": 1.0,

#

Ok, this was a big update so just wanted to check everything in case we made any errors.

#

On that sub, the events only show like 5 so it is hard to see if it was updated with our application fee visually. And we just asked that we get our platform filters for connect accounts so we can see more.
But I checked with an API call on that one and it looks good

#

So the invoice on a monthly subscription is created a month early?

#

Like if a sub is paid on January 1 and February 1 and we update the application fee on Jan 15th, then we don't get the application fee on Feb 1? Not until March 1 and on Feb 1 the invoice for March 1 is created?

stiff forge
#

If you have a Subscription with a monthly Price that starts on January 1st, then on January 15 you update the application fee, then on February 1st the new Invoice for the new month is created and that will have the application fee.

balmy oyster
#

OK i didn't fully understand that. Thank you!

#

Ok all looks good with this big update. Thank you!

#

...i will try to type more slowly in the future. ๐Ÿ™‚

stiff forge
#

haha all good, my team spends its time saying "LET ME THINK" when I ask questions and I keep typing
