Emails aren't automatically generated in test-mode. You can view the receipt manually in the Dashboard, but you won't actually get any emails unless you manually click "Send receipt" in the Dashboard

oh i see! but when i'm out of test mode it'll work as expected basically? is there anything i need to change when being out of test mode for this to work?

Just make sure that your live-mode Dashboard is set up to send the emails automatically: https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/emails
