hello! A manual payout would take even longer to land in your connected account's bank account.
By default, an automatic payout is created beforehand so that the payout posts to the bank account when the payment funds are available e.g. T+3. If you do manual payouts, you have to wait till the funds become available e.g. T+3, then create the payout. The instruction sent to the bank will take possibly another e.g. T+1 to to land
Thanks a lot for getting back to me Alex!
I tried sending a manual payout right after the transfer was made to the connected account and it seemed to go through right away. I am not sure what you mean with wait till the funds become available?
We are trying to send money from our platform account to an express connected account
can you share the payout id?
i'm guessing that you created a transfer without specifying a source_transaction?
ah yes, we just want to transfer money that is already in our platform account balance without being related to any customer payment on our side\
aaaah, alright i get it now. Then you can ignore the bit about funds being available.
is the connected account on daily automatic payouts?
generally i discourage the use of manual payouts mainly because it doesn't include an itemized breakdown of the payout
yes exactly it is on daily already but we see that it can sometimes take up to 3 days to be triggered. Let me send you an example where it took particularly long
I was also not aware of any itemized breakdown. Where would we be seeing these?
maybe you can share the payout id first and i can point you to where you can find it?

I actually saw it under the summary now but I don't think it is helping us much since we pretty much have one transfer per day (maybe something we could look into changing to give more insights)
but yeah in the example I shared we sent out the transfer very early on Aug 4 and it was only initiated late on Aug 6
- payout was initiated on Aug 7 only actually
onesec, taking a look at it
Thank you! 🙏
okay, this is a bit complex because it's got to do with how Stripe creates automatic payouts beforehand. With reference to that payout that you've provided, i'm guessing that some of your transfers are falling into the situation whereby :
a) That transfer was made after it's already past the automatic payout creation for that day, and
b) the next day when the automatic payout should be created, the following day is a weekend
if the itemized payout breakdown isn't important, then yes, i think you can try manual payouts instead.
there's still the possibility that when you create the manual payout, it's past the cutoff time for processing it / sending it to the banking partners to be processed and it would be processed T+1 instead
