To see exactly why the payment is in incomplete state, I'd need to look at that specific paymentIntent. Can you share the pi_ xxxx id with me for the incomplete payment?

I was able to confirm that things are working as expected here. On this payment intent, https://dashboard.stripe.com/payments/pi_3LTAEgAAMnwmuIwO0a8TFfrY you can see in the Timeline of the reason as to why the payment is in 'incomplete' status.
To summarize, a 3DS, https://stripe.com/en-fr/guides/3d-secure-2 failed so the user will need another payment method to make a payment.
