#IGMontero - discount duration

Hello, a 2 month discount would only apply to your first year. Basically the way the duration works is that any subscription cycles that start while the coupon is active get the discount
So if you apply that 2 month coupon today, 8/3, its discount will be apply to any cycle on that subscription that starts before 10/3
Hey Pompey, that makes sense thanks.
One question though.
I just tested applying a discount to a yearly subscription like this:
Price of subscription: $3564/year
Discount: 85% off the first two months.
After applying it, the user got billed only $534.60, and the next payment is 1 year from now, so looks like it was only billed 15% for the entire year, instead of the first two months.
The subscription id is sub_1LSh6YHgNETl4BhhTm5mPlWQ
In test mode, ofc
That is the expected behavior but I do get why it probably isn't desirable here. I am guessing you have a monthly and yearly rate for this price?
Yes, we have monthly and yearly plans
I don't understand why that is the expected behaviour though
Isn't it supposed to just discount 15% for two months, instead of the 12 months?
The best way to do this here might be making two coupon codes, one for 15% off of two months on the price, and one for 1.25% off of your yearly price
Okay sure, that makes sense. I can restrict the prices for the coupon codes so that works. Just wanted to know if what I saw is expected. Since they only mention "months" in the coupon, instead of years or billing periods
Yeah, expected though I get how it is counterintuitive
Okay thank you very much! Have a nice day
