the upgrade is just stuck on the screen. i can't move, can't even esc. alt tab works to close the game. basically im just stuck there until i die. im still fighting in the background, still collecting xp and leveling up as normal. this particular time happend from defeating a rift, but i've seen it if i go to the forge with multiple upgrades available
