#Deathjack3 Soul Shift model selection + placement + attacks after placement

Is the intent to allow Deathjack3 perform attacks after that placement or does its Activation end after that?
Spell says the cohort model gives up its combat for the turn.
But how does that interact with a model that already completed its activation?
It gets the Spellcaster rule, which is the one that Leaders have, so it doesn't have to forfeit to cast spells, it casts them via paying Focus. (Or its other special rule that lets it cast a spell for a Soul.)
I think the followup question is more like:
Can Deathjack activate, advance, declare it's beginning its Combat Action (choosing melee initial attacks) but before attacking, cast Soul Shift to place itself, and continue with its Combat Action.
I think that DJ can not forfeit Combat Action when he starts one.
I would think it would forfeit the rest of its Combat Action as soon as it is placed by the spell
DJ moves and use that spell on himself. In the spell you have: forfeit its Normal Movement and Combat Action. DJ started and end his normal movement before using spell.
If its done: 1. move , 2. cast spell -> you lose the combat action (you still have it available as you have not done anything with it.
However. If its done 1. move, 2. "make initial attacks" 3. attack on enemy 4. use the forementioned spell -> Are you allowed to continue with 1. other initial attacks and 2. buy new attacks ?
Because as currently it stands, it basically reads: Charge and make an attack on model, use spell and eat opponents warcaster 🙂
(terms and conditions apply, heavily)
I think DJ can not make additional attacks for focus after using this spell on himself.
He can only use spells.
Based on Morozov not losing his Move/Action when he shifts from Feat, Deathjack should be able to Soul Shift and then attack
Morozov is slightly different in wording though - his feat trigger specifies models that have "already activated" and morozov doesn't lose anything because he's in the middle of his activation if I understand that ruling correctly. I think there are some things like not having unstoppable and moving out of combat when you've already had to sacrifice your combat action allows you to still move / place the unit, so effectively if you're forced to sacrifice something DURING the thing, you might not have to. So if positioned correctly, based on how the Replaced rules are worded. DJ basically has repo 7.15” (4” +80mm (3.14”)).
M1 is just a theoretical enemy model for visualization. M2 is a friendly model to target with the spell and replace.
My thinking is that by already being in your Combat Action, you can't sacrifice it, the same as Morozov is already in his Activation
I think that infernal must speak 🙂
@dense estuary @worldly peak please clarify
We will need to check with internal to get full intent
I hope the intention is as follows: go and kill everything, soul devourer.
The intent is that he couldn't continue to make attacks if he is casting this mid attack action. It should just end.
End Combat Action or end activation?
I.e. could it Soul Shift and then cast another spell?
End Combat Action
So it is intended that he can port forward and still cast Annihilation, is that right?
Yes, since a Spellcaster can still cast spells outside of its Combat Action (or even without a Combat Action).
If Deathjack required a Special Action or Special Attack to cast spells, then no, that wouldn't work.

Can Dj repo with the card after being ported?
Yes.
Sweet thanks
Can dj use this spell on your opponents turn?
The intent is no.
