How do you resolve both effects saying to ignore other models? Do you just get to pick?

My brain says "when" implies a triggered effect, so active player chooses order and which one to go to, but not sure if that's actually rules or just head canon.

I think this is the relevant rule, so two triggers, I pick order, second one fizzles because soul is no longer available. So in essence I get to choose what model gets the soul.
