I just went to find the thread over on the Community Hub, but alas, it is gone! 😅
In brief: yes. There is no core terrain rule that prevents terrain from being removed from the table during the game. There just happen to be vanishingly few rules that actually do it. 🙂
Both Dense Fog and Burning Earth are cloud effects. Aetheric Blast causes them to "expire", which has been ruled in the past to mean "remove them from the table."
