At the weekend this came up. A mule, shot a large base, with Cri Devistation. And threw everything hit 3" way. As per the rules the furthest model is moved first.

It collisadde with a friendly model of the same size, both are knocked over and both survivve the damge roll. Thisis the first position.

#

The large base is then thrown like this.

#

Do the models hit take another damage roll?

Or is all the resolution simultaneous? And does that mean they only take one damage roll?

I can't tell which models were thrown along with the Vipex. Were the models circled in yellow the ones caught in the blast and thrown?

#

Also, here's the text of Critical Devastation:

#

The "throw" portion of Critical Devastation is resolved in Step 7 of the Activation Timing sequence, because it's an effect triggered by [critical] hitting:

#

Here's the entirety of Step 8, which is where all the damage rolls occur:

#

All that being said: I am pretty sure I know the answer on this one, but Critical Devastation (and Powder Keg) have been ruled by intent to work differently than the plain reading might suggest. It's weird, and nobody will believe me if I explain it, so I'll leave this one for @weary sorrel to answer up front. 😄

The models hit will take another damage roll per the collateral damage
